This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared.

What type of information do we collect?

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect much of this information to make it easier for you—to ensure fast site load times, your preferences, saved shopping profiles, and more.

We collect device Information via “cookies”, “log files” and “web beacons”

When you view the Website, we may store some information on your computer's hard drive. This information will be in the form of a "Cookie" or “Pixels”. Most web browsers automatically accept Cookies, but you can change your browser to prevent that. Without accepting a Cookie, your use of the Site may be affected.

Do Not Track Signals from Web Browsers – The Website is not presently configured to support Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals from web browsers.

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about both Device Information and Order Information.

How do we use your information?

We use the Order Information that we generally collect to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).

Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;

  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and

  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

Disclosure to Third Party Service Providers.

We may share your information with third-party service providers to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include but are not limited to fulfilling orders, processing payments, handling billing disputes and collections, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance and providing customer service. Retreat Foods, Inc. may also partner with third-party service providers for fraud prevention and/or identity verification. Your information will be treated as private and confidential by such third-party service providers and not used for any other purpose than we authorize.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and, more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Where is my information stored? Is it safe?

Retreat Foods practices sound data collection, storage, and security processes. We are committed to keeping your information safe and secure.

Do we share your personal information?

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Shopify to power our online store. You can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or another lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

What about behavioral advertising?

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. What about “Do Not Track”?

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

Do I have additional rights as an EU citizen?

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

How long is my data retained?

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

How We Safeguard Your Personal Information:

Retreat Foods takes a variety of reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your information against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, and no means of electronic or physical storage, is absolutely secure. As such, you acknowledge and accept that we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to, through, or on our Services or via the Internet, and that any such transmission is at your own risk.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access the Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Services.

Retention of Your Personal Information:

We keep your personal information for no longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. The length of time for which we retain information depends on the purposes for which we collected and use it and/or as required to comply with applicable laws.

Third Parties

Our Services may contain references or links to third-party websites and services. Except as described above regarding Service Providers, we do not control what information third parties track or collect. Any access to and use of such third-party websites and services is not governed by this Privacy Policy but instead is governed by the privacy policies of those third parties. We are not responsible for the information practices of such third parties.

Information For Visitors Outside of The United States

If you use our Services or provide us your personal information from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States and other countries where Retreat Foods or its vendors operate in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws. Please note that data protection and consumer protection laws of the United States and such other countries may differ from the data protection or consumer protection laws in your country. By using our Services or providing us with your personal information, you understand that your personal information will be collected from and processed in the United States and other countries where Retreat Foods or its vendors operate, and acknowledge that your information may be subject to access by law enforcement and other government entities, including courts and tribunals, in accordance with laws applicable in those jurisdictions.

What about minors?

The Site is not intended for persons under 18 years of age, or any higher minimum age in the jurisdiction where that person resides (“Child” or “Children”), and is not intentionally developed for or directed to Children. We do not knowingly solicit or collect any information from Children nor do we knowingly market our products or services to Children. If we learn that we have collected information of a Child, we will take steps to delete such information from our files as soon as possible and, if applicable, terminate that Child’s account.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
